Pentair IntelliChlor Replacement Union Kit (Set of 2) | 520595
The Pentair 520595 is an OEM replacement union kit for Pentair IntelliChlor salt chlorine generator cells. These unions connect the IntelliChlor cell to the pool plumbing and create a secure, leak-resistant seal. Replace the unions when the original nuts/couplers are cracked, stripped, UV-damaged, or leaking at the O-ring seal.
Key Features
- Direct IntelliChlor union replacement: restores a proper seal between the salt cell and plumbing.
- Leak-resistant connection: includes new O-rings to renew sealing surfaces.
- Easy installation: twist-on union nuts and couplers (no cutting/splicing of the salt cell cord required).
- OEM Pentair parts: correct fit for compatible IntelliChlor cell installations.
Compatibility
- Fits: Pentair IntelliChlor IC-series salt cells including IC15, IC20, IC40, IC60 (where 520595 is specified)
- Tip: Confirm your system is IntelliChlor (IC-series). iChlor unions/parts are different.
What’s Included
- (2) Union nuts
- (2) Union couplers
- (2) O-rings
Common Reasons to Replace
- Drips or seepage at the salt cell union connection
- Cracked union nut, damaged coupler, or flattened/swollen O-ring
- Threads are stripped and the union will not tighten correctly
- Union components are brittle from sun exposure or age
Installation Notes
- Turn off the pump and relieve pressure before loosening unions.
- Inspect the union seating surfaces and clean away scale/debris before installing new O-rings.
- Lightly lubricate O-rings with silicone lubricant (never petroleum-based) to help prevent pinching.
- Hand-tighten unions firmly; avoid over-tightening which can crack plastic fittings.
- After restart, check carefully for leaks at both union connections.

Maintenance Tips
- Inspect unions seasonally for drips, cracks, or sun-brittle plastic and replace before a small leak becomes a bigger plumbing issue.
- When servicing the salt cell, always re-check O-ring condition and reseat unions evenly to avoid leaks.
- Keep water chemistry balanced to reduce scale at the cell and union sealing surfaces.
